October 2025Great Family Time
We enjoyed bringing our families together in Galveston for a long weekend. We had plenty of room for 5 adults and 2 young kids. The home was well-prepared for family time, with games, cards, TVs on both levels/both living rooms, and sand toys to take to the beach. The setting and water are very beautiful - sunsets are stunning, and there are 4 levels of water-front balconies/patios. The kids enjoyed watching the fish jump and jellyfish cruise by the house. We brought our bikes and enjoyed cruising around the very peaceful neighborhood as well. We cooked most of our meals there, and the kitchen is plenty stocked to do so. The house is situated within 3 minutes drive of a beautiful, sandy beach. You can drive out to/park on the beach, or walk, if you don't mind a run accross the main road. The 4th floor balcony also looks out to the ocean, which is one block away. The home is about 40+ years old, so there were a few aesthetic details that happen with humidity and close-to-water houses - 3 water beetles in the kitchen when we got there (we bought bug spray and fumigated!), a light out over the stairs and light out on the 4th floor balcony, wood planking/flooring coming apart on the first floor. Those aesthetic things did not impact our fun or family time together! ”
