June 2025Lake Front Serenity
Beautiful, peaceful, spacious and overall wonderful. We went with another couple. Tucked away on 32 acres in the Gifford National Forrest the home offered spectacular views of the lake and mtns of trees! Actually well situated to take advantage of some great exploration of nearby ape caves( a must) and mt. st. helens not to mention lewis river falls hike ( a lil further out but the drive is worth it alone. Filled days with visits to Stevenson and skamania lodge for 9 holes, and what a fun little area to explore. E Bike rides along columbia ricer and gorge along with 6 waterfall stops along with a wine tasting day rounded the week out. So plenty to do, and nice to stop at costco on way in so we were amply supplied. Not many restaurants( like 1 and a pizza 5-7 miles away in town) in area so need to drive 75minutes like to stevenson area which is lovely. Not much going on in Cougar WA , so we just enjoyed slow mornings, coffee on the deck, an activity or hike during day. Then come back to enjoy the views, expansive deck, enjoy the kyacks and paddle boat. I highly recommend the lodge and pics dont do justice. Starlink wifi was perfect . Hosts were responsive before trip and had no need to reach out to them or property mgr. smooth visit …2 thumbs up and beds were comfortable! Thanks for the welcome gift! Tom and Kathy ”
