In need of some TLC

All 3 star go to the grounds and staff! Beautiful property that has a wonderful feel and the staff is so nice! The layout of the buildings make you feel like your in an apartment complex. Where this property falls very short is the upkeep of the furniture and rooms including the pool chairs! Almost every where the cushions are falling apart with ripped zippers and stained! TV's missing remote or damaged where the usb port is ripped out! The Crazy thing- this resort is a sister property to Solaz which is so well maintained and beautiful! Ocean view means crank your head over the corner balcony and look through the palm trees! 1/2 additional star as the beds were comfy!”

Wonderful Hacienda Del Mar

My wife, her two sisters and my brother-in-law had a great week at Hacienda Del Mar. Our unit was fantastic with a beautiful view of the sea of Cortez allowing us to see many whales. I highly recommend staying here.”

Beautiful Architecture

I want to give this resort a higher rating because I absolutely adore the more traditional Mexican architecture, the beautiful mature landscaping, and oceanside pools and we did have a wonderful time with our adults kids and grandkids on this trip, but the daily fight for a pool chair was crazy. This is not an uncommon issue at Mexico resorts but I do hope that Hacienda Del Mar will choose to get it under control. They have signs that you can’t reserve chairs and yet every morning before 8am nearly all chairs are reserved with towels. No people, just towels. Sometimes the people don’t appear for hours. Everyone ends up having to play this game or you quite literally have to sit on the ground (not exactly a luxury experience). The lunch food was good the dinner food was mediocre. Pool service is virtually non existent. It’s more walk up bar/lunch. We have found most Third Home Mexico resorts operate at 40% capacity when we travel (typically Oct/Nov or Jan) This resort felt overbooked and in fact although we have stayed at this resort previously we were moved to Solaz on this particular trip because it was overbooked and they didn’t have a room for us. The rooms need some maintenance but it’s to be expected with the age of the resort. We have booked this resort 2 times even with these concerns because it has a 3 bedroom penthouse that accommodates 12 people so it works for our family. If you love Mexico and can master the chair game it’s still a beautiful resort despite some of its issues. Note: Because of our numbers we often make dinners etc in the room or we go out on the town to eat so the food not being great isn’t a huge issue for us. ”

Spring break at Hacienda

Beautiful destination. The location, facility and staff were excellent. We appreciated the service and amenities. The views were gorgeous from the waterfront. We whale watched as we took in the sun and surf. Food was very good. Loved the concierge service. Pool staff were super nice. Only thing could be better is the room did not have any soft touches like lamps, throw pillows or real decor. Kitchen was bare bones. And pool chairs were a weird fight every day. People saving 8 or more chairs for the day and not being in them for hours. Kind of an odd “free for all” that was territorial. Policy was 45 min max to hold without being in them but it was not inforced or honored.,”

Very Tired Unit and Furniture - Gorgeous Gardens

Our unit did not match the one shown in the photos. In the family room, we found two chairs with stuffing coming out and an old red loveseat that had stains and was uncomfortable to sit on. However, the beds were clean and comfortable. Additionally, the photos displayed a large, expansive deck, which was not the unit we had. On a positive note, the gardens on the property are stunning and well-maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed the beach, and it was a pleasure to walk to the Four Seasons for a couple of meals. Both this beach and the beaches at the Four Seasons are beautiful. The sunrises were breathtaking, and we were delighted to see whales playing throughout the day. Overall, this property has the potential to be outstanding, but it fell short in some areas.”

Wonderful stay in Cabo

We enjoyed seeing dozens of whales from the resort during our stay. Many were very close to shore. We found the resort centrally located to our various activities in San Jose Del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. The resort was nice and the staff was very friendly. ”

Hacienda Del Mar

Great location and beautiful grounds. The room was very run down. Broken lights, phone, elevator, furniture was stained and dirty. Would not recommend or stay again. Also the service was beyond slow at all the restaurants besides the breakfast buffet.”

Tired Unit

Just spent a week at Hacienda del Mar. Pros - Beds comfortable, resort staff wonderful, housekeeping great, landscape beautiful and well maintained, everything very clean. Several restaurants to choose from. Cons - Resort and unit are quite tired and in need of updating. Furniture (especially living room) and appliances are old. Unit needs paint and was very sparse. Timeshare sales job at check in. Unit overlooks kids pool and play area. ”

Lovely compound -

The complex is well located and common areas are lovely. Our room which was billed as ocean view looked over a courtyard and the kids pool. Tiny sliver of view off to the left. There were some maintenance issues which were addressed. Furnishings need upgrading. The “hot tub” on the balcony is indeed a bath tub. That you can fill with water. Food was excellent there (yes maybe a bit pricey as others have noted). Place was crowded and lively and fun. Lots of activities if that’s your thing”

Cabo Paradise!

Very nice property! We stayed Dec 7th - 14th and the entire property was fully decorated for Christmas with thousands of poinsettias planted in the landscaping and Christmas trees and mangers around the property. Very festive! Our 3 BR unit had 4 bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen, though no oven. Each BR has its own thermostat and the showers had great pressure and really hot water! Nice patio furniture (2 chairs, 2 chaises and a 2 person hot tub) and nicely landscaped interior atrium area with a private pool. Could use some more seating in living room (love seat and two side chairs), though not sure if the space would accommodate 2 sofas…for instance. Food was great in all restaurants and the staff is very friendly and accommodating!”

Beautiful property and great location

We enjoyed our stay here very much. Our room was located in the building furthest from the beach, and ground floor. But ground was beautiful that not having ocean view didn’t bother us. Because it is an older property, we had to call maintenance many times for smell coming from drains and not working ac. They came promptly and fixed the issue quickly. We only ate once at the hotel, breakfast. It was as expected quality. Easy access to both Cabo and San Jose by Uber. We definitely return when the opportunity is available.”

Lovely Cabo resort with a beautiful beach

My favorite part of Hacienda Del Mar (our second time going) is the amazing sandy white, clean beach. Because we were there in March, we were treated to seeing humpback whales breaching just beyond the shore. So beautiful. Everyone at the resort was so friendly and never passed us without saying Hola! We used Uber a lot and we were pleased that there was not restriction to allow the drivers to come right up to the reception area. Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed sitting on our balcony watching the stars come out over the ocean. ”

Beautiful Grounds and pools

Friendly staff and beautiful grounds but rooms are dated. We had room in back with no view of the ocean, but did have a nice garden view. We rented a car from 10 which was onsite and enjoyed exploring from San Jose del Cabo to Todos Santos. ”

Lovely grounds and staff, food so so

The facilities and the grounds are very nice at this resort. Everything is well appointed and meticulously cared for. The staff was very friendly. However they need to improve their food and beverage service and quality. Unfortunately, the service was slow most of the time in all restaurants. I’m not sure why, because there appeared to be plenty of wait staff. The drinks were light pours routinely and very pricey. Which is frustrating when you are paying $20 for a premium drink and get a light pour. This is an all inclusive resort, so I would assume that is the reason for this. Until they change the food and beverage department, I won’t be back. I would give the grounds and facilities a 4 and the food a 3. If I could do a 3.5 star rating that is what I would give them. ”

Wonderful family stay

This resort is clean, has great pools, a wonderful spa, delicious restaurant options, and amazing beaches. I would go again! To know: a. While beach is great, you really can't swim here... just use the pools. I would recommend Chileno beach for swimming in the ocean. b. We did not have an ocean view from our room... they put us at the back of the resort. c. Do not rent a car from Avis at the airport! I heard Cactus is the better local option, and the resort offers cars from Ten. d. You will be approached to attend a time share presentation... at the resort, and many other places during your stay. Be prepared. e. Third Home charges higher fees for keyless stays that I was not aware of.”

Hacienda del Mar was a perfect place to take my family. The condo was convenient to everything at the resort. The food and service was awesome! We enjoyed watching the whales a breakfast and visiting the different pools at the property. We will be back!”

Not a repeat

We gifted this to our cousin and her sister. Their check in was a disaster. Afternoon arrival, hungry and tired. Lobby and surrounding area packed. They finally got in after 8pm, only to find the kitchen appliances dirty and missing parts. They requested to be moved and after much time and discussion were moved into a different unit that had better appliances. The decor and furnishings were dated. Not a repeat she told us. ”

Very Comfortable and nice property

This is a nice location to settle in for your vacation. Close to Downtown Cabo and good staff and check in process. Rooms are a bit dated but you're in Mexico so enjoy. ”

Very happy with our stay

Overall, a nice place. We enjoyed the fantastic views from the beach and lower pools. The room needed some maintenance but the staff was very responsive and fixed things within an hour. We enjoyed the ability to use the grill to cook our own food a couple of times. The prices for food and beverages in the resort restaurants seemed quite high. We enjoyed the buffet at Tomatoes one night - the food was excellent. We also had them prepare the fresh fish we caught which was very good. Still expensive given we provided the fish but very well done. We would stay there again. ”

Lovely Old-Fashioned Spanish Style

We were placed into a suite that was lacking in view even though we booked fart in advance. We advised the resort we would be arriving 1 day late of reservation 3 x (receiving email confirmation of such) and when we arrived the day later 2 hrs past checkin our room was not ready. I feel we were given a "last resort room" that was alot dated. The fridge was dented and crooked, the hot water did not work each day in various rooms of the suite and we were not greeted well from the front lobby. This reservation was not customary of a Third Home reservation as this was a 3 star at best room and service. I would like it noted that I have been going to Hacienda Del Mar for over 15 years and this was the first time we experienced these types of problems however also note that in 15 years the rooms have not changed which is why we note that they are "tired"”

Brilliant fun

We stayed with a group of friends and loved it here. The weather was fabulous and we found many great places to eat both at the resort and locally. The staff were super helpful and bedrooms were really comfortable. Lolling by the pool was just what we needed combined with a little gentle exploring. Highly recommended.”

Hacienda Charm

Nice setting for a girls getaway. Property/grounds are well maintained & staff is ever gracious. Location is 6km from downtown Cabo and further from San Jose, so we spent a lot on cabs. Food on property is mostly buffet, except pool/beach. Rooms are in dire need of upgrading--old furniture & appliances. Had to call maintenance 3 times for repairs. Room in photos is not the accomodation we got--no jacuzzi on deck, as I asked for 3 times.”

Hacienda Del Mar Holiday week stay

Our only disappointment at Hacienda Del Mar was the condition of the suite. It was totally run down and in need of a full redo. This is why i am giving them a 3 star rating. Everything else would deserve a 4 star rating. Friendly, courteous staff, good food, easy chair availability at the pools, Housekeeping daily. Ocean view was very nice saw whales daily. We purchased the meal plan buy 3 get 1 free for our family of six. It was worth it only if you dine in the gourmet restaurants which we did and getting reservations no problem. We probably came out even in the end.”

Wonderful Stay!!

This was one of the best resorts we have stayed at in Cabo. The grounds were beautiful, staff incredibly friendly, and the food was some of the best we've had. Some of the closures of the restaurants and only ones available at certain times was a bummer, but all related to the current times and couldn't be upset. The decorations in the 3 bedroom suite we had were a bit dated, but we didn't mind because we weren't in there much. Easy to get into town, and extremely helpful staff to help you get there. Uber was a great choice getting to town, along with Cabo Incredible Locations for private transportation to and from the airport! We will definitely be looking to go back! ”

Sunday brunch at Pitahayas is a must!

We spent a week in this 3 bedroom. Very comfortable with a great view. Resort was at 35% capacity so there was lots of room at all the pools. Sunday brunch at Pitahayas is a must! We asked the staff to light the BBQ in the common area and had dinner under the stars in a gazebo which was a nice change. Staff was very accommodating and there is a small grocery store on site. We visited the spa on a few occasions and were very pleased with the services. Great value compared to other resorts in Cabo. Would definitely consider staying here again! ”

Great Trip!

We stayed at Haceinda Del Mar (07543) 12/26-1/2/21 and had a wonderful stay! The property was beautiful and the staff were so helpful and friendly. The main pool area is gorgeous overlooking the ocean and there is plenty of room and lounge chairs to relax. There are multiple restaurants on site, a market and a couple shops so if exploring Cabo isn't your thing, there really is no need to leave the property. We felt very safe and everything was beyond our expectations in cleanliness and sanitation regarding Covid. Our kids loved the kids club and made fun crafts (pinatas and painting pottery) --- and they loved the kids area/slide (and smoothies!). We rented a car so went and explored and had a few meals off site which was super easy and safe. The property staff check you in and out and again were lovely. We definitely hope to be back!”

Great Getaway

We had an amazing time! We were two families with 5 kids under age 4. The kids LOVED kids club for $100/5 days it was amazing. The pools were great and the condo was well stocked. We hired a chef to cook lunch and dinner, therefore we did not venture to any of the restaurants on site, but everything looked amazing. Great short getaway from California and perfect for little kids! ”

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hacienda Del Mar. We had the 3 bedroom for 5 people and everyone had space a plenty. Beds were very comfortable with nice linens. I believe our room had been recently updated as paint was fresh and everything was in great condition. Our room was on the second floor of building 12. It over looked part of the children’s area, but there were never any kids playing and so it did not cause any issues. Our view wasn’t much, but we spent our time at the numerous beach front pools and beach and when we did go back to our room it was immaculate so again, we have nothing but positive experiences and memories. Staff & poolside food was excellent. We traveled into town for most of our dinners and the location was very convenient. Easy parking at the resort. We would definitely return if the opportunity arose. I would even consider buying a residence there. We did take a presentation tour of their new sister resort, but decided we preferred the family friendliness of Hacienda Del Mar. Our teenage daughters loved it and hope to return soon! We are friends of Dom and Susan Pomilia. We and 2 other couples totally enjoyed our stay and Hacienda del Mar. The 3 bedrooms are very spacious and clean. Each has their own shower and bathroom. The view is fantastic. Maid service was outstanding and all the people working at the Hacienda were extremely polite. Especially Amando, the main man working on the beach. I may have spelled his name wrong. You will get a little pressure to do a time share, we declined. Traveled to Cabo (about 7 miles) 3-4 times. Really do not have to leave Hacienda if you do not wish to drive or take shuttle. Will definitely try to return in the future. Had a great time. Larry & Kathy Gondola”

Great Resort- Inconsistent room quality

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hacienda Del Mar. The resort is spacious with so much to offer you never have to leave. The food was excellent and the staff very hospitable and friendly. We reserved 2 units for the same week and found them to be in very different condition. 1 was outdated in decor and had a very musty, mildew smell to it. The other was updated and clean without odor. In the future I'd want to be assured of an updated, odorless unit which may be difficult in a vacation club or while booking through 3rd home. We were lucky that we had enough room in the larger unit and didn't need to stay in the other. It sat vacant. We had a great vacation, loved the 1 unit we stayed in and had a great week. I just think it's fair to note that had we not had the second unit our feelings would've been quite different.”

Sheraton-Cabo

First of all this is a time-share property. You will be required to speak to a sales person at check-in regarding attending a presentation. WIFI is free for one device only. This is a 3 bedroom unit that sleeps 10 comfortably. Most people have two devices, extra devices are charged at $3.99 per day. This can cost an extra $40.00 per day. They also charge you $4.00 per day for the maid service. When you reserve these time-share units, most of the owners do not request a unit for you. As a non-owner they assign units that are less desirable. We were in a unit furthest from the ocean and with the kids pool and play area right outside our decks. This unit is great if you have small children, however we did not and had to listen to screaming children everyday from 9 am to 5:30 pm. We did not have the sliding doors open due to the noise. The unit is large, clean, but very dated. The living room furnishings are very uncomfortable and the couch was dirty with multiple stains. The kitchen is well stocked with a large refrigerator, but no oven. The beds are very comfortable and the air conditioner units are quiet. We have stayed in many properties in Cabo and I would not return to this one. You definitely will need a rental car to get anywhere outside the property.”
