Set within the protected landscape of Tranum Klitplantage, this architect designed residence brings contemporary Scandinavian living into close dialogue with the dunes. Across approximately 1,350 square feet, three bedrooms and two bathrooms accommodate up to six people in calm, thoughtfully composed surroundings.

Designed by Rasmus Bak of Baks Arkitekter, the home draws on Japanese building traditions and Scandinavian restraint. Its black Shou Sugi Ban charred spruce exterior creates a striking silhouette against the heath, while Douglas fir, natural stone, and Harris clinker introduce warmth and tactile character throughout. Clean architectural lines allow the setting to remain the defining feature.

Unobstructed views extend across heather, gorse, juniper, and pine, with no roads or neighbouring homes interrupting the horizon. Shifting light, coastal weather, and the changing seasons shape the atmosphere of the interiors, while red deer are known to cross the grounds in front of the house.

The terraces continue the living spaces outdoors, offering carefully positioned areas for sunlight, shade, and shelter throughout the day. This connection between architecture and landscape creates an experience that feels private, grounded, and quietly sophisticated.

Four electric bicycles provide an enjoyable way to explore the surrounding area. Tranum Strand offers broad sands, dune grasses, and the North Sea, while Fosdalen and Lien reveal streams, wooden bridges, mature beech trees, heathland, and pine forest. Local bakeries and Svinkløv Badehotel add appealing culinary destinations to days shaped by cycling, walking, and the natural rhythm of North Jutland. Every element supports an unhurried appreciation of this coastal environment.
