January 2026After a short walk of 15/20 mins you can be somewhere really interesting
The 11th arrondisement is supposedly gritty / trendy / diverse culturally but it wasn’t for us . Now le Marais ……... At least one can walk 15/20 minutes to le Marais from the apt The building that houses the apt is of no interest architecturally speaking ( I suspect it’s an infill ) and the flat itself very compact at about 40 square metres . In actual fact it is a large studio where a flimsy partition wall has been built to make it a 1 bedder I had to remove a large amount of the owners foods items from the fridge to make some space for our groceries . A previous review had mentioned that a lot of the hosts possessions were to be found in the flat but I was suprised by the extent of said possessions . Usually I move out the majority of our things before a Thirdhome guests arrives ( this is in fact recommended by Thirdhome ) The apt feels like a rental and not a home and should you stay dont expect 1000 thread count bedlinen / fluffy down pillows . I have never before seen polyester pillows / bedlinen and plastic curtains in a sitting room . The mattress topper slides off overnight . We struggled to use the ikea oven / microwave and there were no instructions as to where to dispose of rubbish ( we bumped into other residents on or about day 5 of our stay who directed us to the lobby and communal bins ) . In hindsight I should have messaged the owner but didn’t want to bother her . We also had difficulty trying to turn on the heating but fortunately the weather was mild . So long as you spend most of your time NOT in the apt you will be fine . There is no keysafe so a key is posted to you but there was a miscommunication as to our address so there was some anxiety attached to receiving this and being able to gain entry to the flat . We were concerned about the electrical fittings in the flat as the dble adaptor in kitchen was shorting and the plugs on the partition wall loose . My husband had to remove a large quantity of hair from the trap in the shower so the water would drain away . On a positive note the flat was clean and the owner very kindly agreed to a request for us to stay there . She was very communicative . The flat is close to various metros but be warned the area itself is not glamourous like le Marais . We did however eat at some rather nice local cafes but then again in Paris you are never far from a decent cafe or restaurant or boulangerie . Fortunately we know a lot of Paris like the back of our hands so we made the most of our week visiting old haunts . Thx to the owner for allowing us a stay ”

November 2025Great stay in a local Parisian Neighborhood
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home in the Oberkampf neighborhood of Paris. The location was one of our favorite parts — it feels truly local, full of cafés, bakeriesyet still incredibly convenient for exploring the city. We loved being able to walk to Le Marais in about 20 minutes, which made it easy to enjoy great restaurants, boutiques, and all the charm of that area while still returning to a more authentic Parisian neighborhood. Janice was so helpful with recommendations and wonderful host. I can't wait to return. Merci Beaucoup!!!”

October 2025Paris Stay
The apartment is located in an area that, while seemingly safe, is not particularly premium and is quite far from most of the main attractions one usually visits during a trip to Paris. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was equipped with the essentials, and the place felt clean overall. However, my main concern was that the apartment was completely filled with the owner’s personal belongings, leaving no space at all to store my clothes. It felt as if I were staying in someone’s home who could walk in at any moment. The host, Janice, was very kind and provided helpful information about nearby places. ”
