May 2026A Perfect Irish Countryside Retreat
Our stay at Castan House was absolutely wonderful and exceeded every expectation. My fiancé and I spent a week there as part of a two-week trip to Ireland celebrating our engagement, and it could not have been a more perfect place to begin our journey. The home is beautifully appointed—elegant, comfortable, and exceptionally well maintained. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. Castan House provided the perfect base for exploring Ireland, allowing us to enjoy scenic day trips throughout the countryside while returning each evening to a peaceful and welcoming retreat. One of our favorite memories was relaxing in the backyard after a day of sightseeing, enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sheep in the surrounding fields. The setting is tranquil, picturesque, and everything you imagine when dreaming of the Irish countryside. We were also incredibly grateful for the warm hospitality extended by both the owners and Caithríona, who welcomed us and thoughtfully ensured we had everything we needed before and during our stay. Her attention to detail—from making sure we had coffee and laundry supplies to checking in on us—made us feel genuinely cared for and welcome. The combination of a beautiful home, stunning surroundings, and exceptional hospitality made this one of the highlights of our trip. Castan House felt like something out of a movie, yet with all the comforts of home. We left with wonderful memories and are so grateful for the opportunity to stay here. We would enthusiastically recommend Castan House to any ThirdHome member looking for an authentic, relaxing, and memorable Irish countryside experience.”
