July 2025Great Location on the heart of Banner Elk
My husband and I recently stayed at this charming mountain home for a much-needed getaway. The location is incredibly convenient—right next to the college campus and just a short walk to downtown Banner Elk, where you’ll find great restaurants, local shops, and parks. We even caught a free outdoor concert in the park, which was a fun surprise and a nice way to enjoy a local evening. We weren’t sure what to expect traveling to western North Carolina after last year’s hurricane, but the area is definitely back on its feet and full of things to do. We went horseback riding, hiked Grandfather Mountain, went whitewater rafting, and explored the beautiful High Country. The home is comfortable and has a nice layout for a small group or family. While it’s described as secluded, I’d say it’s tucked in a quiet spot but backs up to the campus, which is something to note if you’re expecting total backyard privacy. That said, the views from the deck were lovely and the proximity to town can’t be beat. The location also makes it a great place to stay if you’re in town for skiing—both Sugar and Beech Mountain are just a short drive away. We enjoyed our stay and loved discovering everything Banner Elk has to offer!”
