Our favorite stay in San Miguel!

Casa Cielo - our 5th exchange in San Miguel - was by far our favorite. Jay has thought of everything, and with the help of the delightful Maria Luisa, the home runs like a well-oiled machine . . . which is not true for all the places we stayed. The garden is gorgeous, and beds incredibly comfortable, and the water is drinkable (again, not a given in most places) We highly recommend staying at Casa Cielo! ”

One of the Best Views in San Miguel

Staying at this beautiful home in San Miguel was an absolute pleasure. The owner, Jay, is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and the consummate host, making every part of the stay feel warm, gracious, and effortless. The home itself is beautifully decorated in classic Mexican colonial style, with charm, character, and tasteful details throughout. It is also exceptionally well equipped with everything one could need for a comfortable and memorable stay. Maria Luisa, the housekeeper, is fantastic, and the home is impeccably maintained. But the true highlight is the terrace, which offers one of the most breathtaking views in all of San Miguel. The lush landscaping creates a setting that feels serene, private, and magical. Watching the sunset with drinks on the terrace or enjoying an alfresco dinner surrounded by the gardens and skyline was unforgettable. A truly special home in every way.”

Great Stay!

The house has the perfect atmosphere for Mexican holiday. Magical outside patio on entry with fountain and plants. House is spacious and beautifully decorated. Great rooftop patio where we spent many hours in evening watching sunset. Road going to house is elevated and rough cobblestone so recommend uber going home.”

Had a great experience. Location is close to the central area, yet far enough away not to be in the busiest part. House is beautiful. Well appointed , everything you need. Easy communication with owner and host. One small note is that the road is a bit steep and typical of SM, cobblestones. Highly recommend ”

We had the most amazing stay at this beautiful vacation home in San Miguel de Allende! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking view—it was truly fabulous and became the perfect backdrop for our mornings and evenings. The home itself was stunningly decorated, with each room thoughtfully furnished and full of charming details that made it feel so welcoming and unique. It was like stepping into a gorgeous, stylish sanctuary every time we walked in. Transportation was a breeze, which made exploring San Miguel so easy. We had no trouble at all getting taxis or Ubers whenever we needed them. The location is ideal, and we even made a visit to the local bar and some of the restaurants recommended in the listing, which added such a nice, authentic touch to our experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in San Miguel de Allende. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a perfect mix of style, comfort, and convenience!”

Impressive, Luxurious, and Comfortable

We two were joined by a couple of our friends for a two-week stay in the Casa Cielo in San Miguel de Allende, in the highlands of central Mexico. It is a fascinating city, a mecca for ex-pats and a hub of intriguing activities. The home includes two stories and a large rooftop lounging area, all with a magnificent view over the city and valley below. It is beautifully furnished and well outfitted with all one needs during a stay. Jay and Stephanie have added many delightful touches. We would happily return for another visit there.”

Casa Cielo was an absolute joy to reside in for a full week. The hosts were spectacular in terms of information and communication and made it all very easy. Their gorgeous home is large and so comfortable and is art and plant filled with 3+ balconies for outdoor seating. The location could not be better for walking in to town and exploring San Miguel de Allende. And, it’s the people of the community that make the stay even more outstanding. Very friendly and helpful and consistently kind everywhere we went. It’s an extremely safe community and now I understand why so many travel sites rate this city as a #1 tourist destination. I cannot say enough wonderful things about San Miguel and this property and our Third Home hosts. My cousin and sister are already booking for their turn too! 6/ 5 stars - FANTASTIC ”

The serene courtyard, with its cascading waterfalls and lush terraces, provides a timeless escape. One of the most impressive features of this home is the staircase adorned with traditional Mexican Talavera tiles, revealing a rooftop that offers panoramic views of the entire city. It's a truly otherworldly experience – a garden retreat on a rooftop that evokes a bygone era. Here, one can unwind with a captivating book and a glass of wine while soaking in the sounds of church bells and the ebb and flow of everyday life below. The casa sits atop a hill on a cobblestone street, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. However, a beautiful 10 to 20-minute walk leads to the main zocalo, where you can find numerous coffee shops, art galleries, and traditional bakeries and eateries. Culinary and craft vendors are scattered at every corner. For convenience after shopping, taking a taxi back to the casa is recommended. San Miguel is steeped in indigenous history that celebrates the region's people. We indulged in tours highlighting the region's food, visited UNESCO historical sites, and explored art museums that showcased Mexico's rich diversity in people groups and history. The management team's outstanding communication enhanced the experience, arranging a private chef and offering recommendations for exceptional local eateries. I am eagerly anticipating my next visit to this property whenever possible.”

Wonderful home

This is a wonderful, spacious and very unique home. We loved all of it. You can easily and quickly walk anywhere in town from here. Jay provides a great walking guide and house manual with restaurant recommendations and more. I would highly recommend this home. ”

This is a very unique home with lots of outdoor space and an awesome rooftop patio. Very characteristic design for the area and loaded with charm. This city totally took us by surprise and we look forward to a return visit to pick up where we left off. The owner was very responsive to questions and made planning a breeze.
